Just got these 5 movies from mail but I can't watch them today cause I'm not gonna be home tonight. Sucks! And these movies aren't kind of any happy happy joy joy but I guess I like it like that.

And my big question for you is that you have to recommend some good books for me. I like pretty sad and dramatic books, I like Torey Hayden's books, the Virgin Suicides, Nancy. I just got Lolita and The Cement Garden. So tell me your favourite book that you think I might like.

    Kannattaa ehdottomasti lukea J.D. Salingerin Sieppari ruispellossa, vielä enemmän tosin suosittelen Alice Seboldin Omaa taivasta, ellet ole sitä vielä lukenut. :)

  7. i just read "one day" from david nicholls. it's a lovely story which is sometimes funny and sometimes sad and the end is really surprising. i laughed and cried while i read the book.

    Lukaseppa toi Fight Club ja Trainspotting kirjoina, monin verroin parempia molemmat kirjoina, vaikka leffatkin ovat täyden kympin arvoisia. Orwellin 1984 menis varmaan myös. Beatnikkien kirjojakin kannattaa lukea, Kerouaccia ja Burroughsia esimerkiksi.

  15. The above mentioned "The Bell Jar", "The Catcher In the Rye" and "White Oleander" might suit your wish, I have "Revolutionary Road" by Richard Yates on my night stand at the moment and I love it. It's a good read for people in a serious relationship but why not for singles, too.

  20. If you like fantasy you might like Dragondoom from Dennis L. McKiernan. He normaly writes series but this is a one-shot and reeaaally tragically =)

  21. Hi Rosa-Fiona:) If your looking for some good books I can only recommend you to read Jane Austen. Seriously. Her books are classic but still dramatic and romantic. Just everything you might like. I'm so into Jane Austens books <3 You should def. have read one of her books in your life and I'm sure you'll love.

    Try some Haruki Murakami book, Chuck Palahniuk(author of the fight club) maybe some of Paulo Coelho books, and J.K.Tool´s The Neon bible is great too i think that you would like it :)

    but my favourite book are by chuck palahniuk..but in no way he is sad and dramatic.

    oh, my fav book is "the shadow of the wind" by carlos ruiz zafon, it's a spanish novel, a bit scary, a bit dramatic, but with the sweetest love story (stories?) set in barcelona. i'm sure you'll love it! x

  40. i'd also recommend the "catcher in the rye" by J.D. Salinger i think it would fit your personality and maybe also "someone like you" by sarah dessen. it's a book for teens and it's very emotional. i loved it

    I LOVE FIGHT CLUB. but the movie just adapted the story from the novel 'fight club' by chuck palahniuk. and the book is soooo much better than the movie.
    or read jane austen's books. there you have romantic and happy ends but a little bit drama,too.
    the reader by bernhard schlink is my favourite book. when I read it,i couldn't stop crying :(

  46. Johanna Thydellin romaani 101 Syytä on yksi lempikirjoistani. Olen lukenut sen kolme kertaa ja se silti jaksaa joka kerta kiinnostaa. Kirja kertoo 16-vuotiaasta Puckista, jonka isä on kadonnut hänen elämästään.

  51. Ostin ton trainspottingin leffana joku pari vuotta sitten ja tykkäsin paljon! Trainspottingin jatko Porno on ihan jees, ei mun mielestä ihan trainspottingin tasolle yltävä. Pornostahan on nyt kaavailtu elokuvaakin mutta saas nähdä tuleeko sitä lainkaan.

  53. well.. i live in chile, so i speak spanish so i read spanishes books LOL ! but i google my favorite book and it's in english too so you can read it :) it's "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (a writter from spain) it's the most amazing book ive ever read so hope u'll read it an love it as well as i do it.

    Tää nyt ei liity kirjoihin, mut ootko menossa nyt syksyllä mihinkään kouluun? Kun ethän sä kai enää kymppiluokalla oo vai miten on? =)

    Toi Trainspotting on kyllä ihan törkeen hyvä kirjana! Se elokuva on toki hyvä, mutta... oksettavia, kuvottavia, etovia kohtia löytyy ihan liikaa ainakin mun omaan makuun. Tuskin ihan kaikki välttämättä haluaa niitä NÄHDÄ omin silmin, if you know what I mean... Lämpimästi suosittelen kirjaa :-)! Ja englannin kielisenä versiona.

    i would say that i think you would like to read charlain harris's books, dead until dark, living dead in dallas.. vampire stories, i don't know if u like vampirea but i think you said ones that u don't like real horror and this is like half horror ;D

  83. hmm, ekana meinasin suositella Janet Fitchin Valkoista Oleanteria, mutta joku oliki jo suositellu sitä. Mutta toiseksi haluaisin kertoa, että Ken Keseyn Yksi lensi yli käenpesän on aivan loistava kuvaus mielisairaalasta ja mukavan yhteiskuntakriittinen.

  85. My kind of books is way different than yours, I like more teenager/high-school things. But I read 'The host', by Stephenie Meyer, that's pretty good and kinda like the kind of books you like! I think you should read it...
    Hey, I have a friend that's studying abroad there in Helsinki and I realize that you live there too! Maybe you'll meet him someday as you said on the interview that I made with you that Helsinki is pretty small and everybody knows each other (:

    Riikka Pulkkinen: Raja, S.E.Hintonin kirjat, Jenna Jameson: Erotiikan ammattilainen/Seksitähden päiväkirja (oikeesti hyvä :o), mm. noi on ehdottomasti luettavia.

    Ei hemmetti, mä ostin kans vasta Pulp fictionin ja Fight Clubin, ja tota Trainspottingia oon väijyny monta kuukautta. Hieno leffamaku siulla !

    hi, just came across this old post. i have to say that "the perks of being a wallflower" is an amazing book, and especially meaningful in your mid-late teens. i recommended it to all my friends in high school and most of them cried and/or had emotional epiphanies from reading it. i hope you enjoy.
